US to pay out food aid despite shutdown

The Trump administration must continue to pay out Snap food aid to 42 million Americans despite the shutdown of the government, reports the BBC.

Federal courts require that emergency funds be used to cover the payments. President Donald Trump says the government is seeking legal guidance but warns of delays. According to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, the payments could be made as early as Wednesday at best.

– There is a process we have to follow, and we need to find out exactly how it works, he tells the channel.

ECB vs. inflation
ECB top: “We keep all doors open”

The ECB does not see any major changes in the eurozone economy, member Joachim Nagel tells Bloomberg.

After leaving the deposit rate unchanged at 2 percent, he says that the central bank is not ruling out any options.

– We are keeping all doors open, and I think that is the most appropriate approach given the many uncertainties, says Nagel.

The economy shows resilience with 0.2 percent growth in the third quarter despite global risks.

The future of Open AI
Open AI and Amazon enter into a giant agreement for cloud services

Open AI has entered into a multi-year agreement to buy cloud services from Amazon for $ 38 billion, equivalent to just over 360 billion kronor. Amazon writes this in a press release.

The strategic partnership gives OpenAI immediate access to Amazon's infrastructure for AI processes, which consists of hundreds of thousands of Nvidia's high-class chips, the company writes.

It is OpenAI's first cloud agreement with Amazon and the biggest step away from cloud dependence on major owner Microsoft, notes CNBC.

Amazon's stock rises nearly 6 percent on the news, while Microsoft is up just under 1 percent.
