After intense hours, Andriy Yermak left his post as President Zelenskyy’s Chief of Staff.

Now comes the next message:

“I’m going to the front line,” he writes in a text message to the New York Post.

On Friday morning, Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) raided Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s closest man, Andriy Yermak, and later that evening he resigned. Later that evening he resigned.

Now Yermak announces that he is heading to the front line.

“I’m going to the front line and am prepared for any reprisals,” he tells the New York Post.

It is unclear how and when he will get there. Yermak did not give any details about whether he will join the Ukrainian armed forces.

He says he has previously served in the country.

The chief of staff is suspected of being involved in the extensive corruption scandal in the Ukrainian energy sector that has previously forced the country's justice minister and energy minister to resign.

"I am an honest and decent person," says Andriy Yermak.

"I am disgusted by all the slander directed at me, and even more disgusted by the lack of support from those who know the truth."
