West Bank
Israel accused of “executions” in West Bank

The Israeli military is investigating an incident in Jenin in the occupied West Bank where two Palestinians were shot dead on Thursday.

Video footage shows the men emerging from a garage with their hands above their heads. They also lift their shirts to show that they are not carrying explosives.

Israeli police order the men to walk back towards the garage before they are shot by soldiers at close range.

The Palestinian Authority accuses the Israeli military of “summary executions” and the UN calls on Israel to immediately investigate the incident.

Israel says the men are suspected of “terrorist activity”. The men are said to have used rocket launchers that they fired at the house, according to information provided to the Haaretz newspaper

Israeli Settlers Enter Syria with Chainsaw

A group of Israeli settlers entered Syria on Thursday. The goal was to establish an Israeli outpost in the Golan Heights in southern Syria, Israeli media reports.

The settlers are said to have destroyed the fence with a chainsaw. However, they did not have long before they were arrested by the Israeli military. The group calls itself the Pioneers of Bashan and claims that there is support in the Bible for the Golan Heights, which is called Bashan in religious texts, to be controlled by Jews.

“The IDF strongly condemns the incident and emphasizes that it is a serious incident that is both criminal and puts both civilians and soldiers in danger,” the Israeli military said in a statement.

Gaza War
Amnesty: Israel's genocide in Gaza still ongoing

The human rights organization Amnesty International accuses Israel of continuing to commit genocide in Gaza, despite the ceasefire that began on October 10.

"The ceasefire risks creating the impression that life in Gaza is returning to normal," said Amnesty's head Agnes Callamard in a statement.

Amnesty states that Israel still severely restricts the entry of emergency aid into Gaza.

"Despite the reduction in the scale of attacks, and some limited improvements, there has been no significant change in the conditions Israel imposes on Palestinians in Gaza, and there is no sign that Israel's intentions have changed," Amnesty writes.

Israel has not commented on the statement. When Amnesty first accused Israel of genocide, in December 2024, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said that Amnesty is a "fanatical organization."
