Trump's USA Greenland's future
Danish night watchman keeps an eye on Trump and Greenland

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has set up a night watchman to report on what Donald Trump does while the Danes are sleeping, reports the newspaper Politiken. A report is compiled between 5 pm and 7 am, for the government and several agencies to take note of.

The service is said to have been introduced in the wake of the conflict that arose when Donald Trump threatened to take control of Greenland this spring.

- It is reasonable to say that the situation in Greenland and the time difference between Denmark and the United States have been a fairly important factor.

New Pope Leo XIV
The Pope's trip is the first insight into the view of geopolitics

Pope Leo XIV is on his first foreign trip since taking office, where he is visiting Turkey and Lebanon.

- It is a very important trip because we do not know much about Leo's view of geopolitics, and it is the first time for him to show what it looks like, says Massimo Faggioli, an Italian academic who follows the Vatican's activities closely, to Reuters.

The Pope's first stop will be in Turkey, but Sukran Celebi, part of the country's relatively small Christian population, tells the AP that he was not even aware of the visit.

- It would be good if he called for world peace, but I don't think it will make any difference.

The shooting in Washington DC
Father of shot soldier: She will not make it

The soldiers in the US National Guard who were shot in Washington DC on Wednesday are 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom and 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe, several media outlets report.

Authorities say the condition is critical, and the 20-year-old's father tells the New York Times that it is unlikely she will survive.

- I am holding her hand right now. She has a fatal injury and will not recover, the father says.

29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal has been identified as the shooter. He came to the United States from Afghanistan in 2021, through a program for Afghans who collaborated with the United States during the war. The shooting is being investigated as a terrorist crime, the motive is unclear.

The hoax ads
Media executives report Mark Zuckerberg to the police

The publishing organization Publishers has had enough of companies imitating their websites in hoax ads on Facebook, and that the social media giant is doing nothing about it, and is therefore reporting the owner Mark Zuckerberg to the police. This is what a number of media executives write on SvD's debate page.

They write that it is primarily the victims of the hoax ads that are affected, but also the credibility of the media.

"It is astonishing that one of the world's largest and most profitable companies is allowed to continue to mediate crime that hits innocent people hard, without taking sufficient measures to stop it"
