Parts of a load of ammunition bound for the German military were stolen from a truck last week.

The ammunition was stolen from the trailer of a civilian transport company's vehicle that had been parked overnight, a spokesman for the AFP news agency said.

According to German media, the truck was parked outside a hotel near the city of Magdeburg in eastern Germany at the time.
