Russia claims that Ukraine has carried out a drone attack on Putin’s presidential palace outside Moscow.
Lies, says Zelensky.
– I got very angry, says Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
The Kremlin claims that Ukraine has tried to attack Vladimir Putin’s residence in Novgorod, Russia, with 91 long-range drones, reports the state news agency Tass.
The attack is said to have taken place during the night of December 29.
The presidential palace, which is used as a summer residence, is located on Lake Valdai.
According to the country’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, no person or building has been harmed. Moscow is now planning to retaliate with a counterattack. Lavrov claims that the attack will mean that Russia will “change their negotiating position”.
The information is rejected by the Ukrainian side.
“This is a lie”, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj according to Reuters and says that it is a way to undermine the ongoing peace talks between the United States and Ukraine.
“I got very angry”
At the same time, Zelenskyj claims that Russia has plans to strike government buildings in Kiev and calls on the United States to intervene.
– I don’t know anything about it. I just heard about it. That would be a shame, says Trump at a press conference together with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago.
The president then says that he had a good conversation with Putin during the day – and confirms the Kremlin’s information that the Russian leader himself informed him about the alleged drone attack.
– This is not the right time. I got very angry, says Trump.
