Trump unpopular in Europe – even among the far right

A large proportion of European voters who vote for far right parties that Donald Trump wants to see in power have a negative image of the US president. This is shown by a survey commissioned by Politico.

Trump is most popular among the British Reform UK voters, where every second has a positive image of him. But among those who vote for the German AfD or the French National Rally, only a third say they have one.

Looking at all those surveyed, two thirds have a negative image of him. The picture is even darker in Canada, where 72 percent say they have a negative image of the US president.

Trump confirms first ground attack on Venezuela

The US has carried out its first ground attack in Venezuela, says Donald Trump according to Reuters.

– There was a big explosion in a port area where they load the ships with drugs, he says and continues:

It's unclear exactly what he's referring to. He doesn't want to say whether it was the CIA or someone else who carried out the attack, but says he "knows exactly who it was".

Trump has previously given the CIA the green light to carry out operations on land in Venezuela.

Two out of three voters oppose Trump’s ban on new offshore wind farms, and just as many believe that global warming is contributing to the rising cost of living.

“The last election was not a referendum on climate change, there was very little discussion, but the administration treated it as such. There is no mandate to do all this,” says Anthony Leiserowitz, director of Yale’s climate program.
