Trump's tariff policy
Trump expected to present billions in aid to farmers

Donald Trump is expected to present a support package for US farmers worth twelve billion dollars, which corresponds to approximately 113 billion kronor. This is reported by sources for NBC News.

Farmers have been caught in a bind in Trump's trade war with China, which has sharply reduced its imports of American soybeans, among other things.

According to the channel's information, eleven billion dollars of the support package will consist of one-time payments to farmers.

Turbulence in Trump's team
Trump lawyer leaves top post in New Jersey

Donald Trump's former personal lawyer Alina Habba is resigning from her post as acting federal attorney in the state of New Jersey, American media reports.

The announcement comes after a complex and lengthy legal process about whether Trump appointed her legally. Last week, an appeals court ruled that this was not the case.

“Do not confuse my compliance with the court order with capitulation,” she writes in a statement.

The future of the Republicans
Noem dismisses that she is about to be fired

Kristi Noem, the US Secretary of Homeland Security, dismisses reports that she is about to be fired. This is reported by the Huffington Post.

At a press conference on Monday, she was confronted with The Bulwark’s reports that her time in the ministerial post is coming to an end.

– I have no indication of that. The president is fantastic and I am proud to work for him every day, she replied.

When asked if she believes she will keep her job for the entire term of office, she replies that it would be an honor.

“Republicans mocked Trump behind his back”

Republicans in the US Congress have mocked President Donald Trump behind his back. That's what outgoing Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said when she was interviewed on the CBS program "60 Minutes" last night.

- I saw how many of my colleagues went from pushing him, pushing the way he talks and constantly mocking me for supporting him, to [...] starting to cheer for him.

The politician also said that many party colleagues are "terrified" to criticize Trump publicly, because they are afraid that he will attack them in posts on Truth Social.

Taylor Greene was previously loyal to Trump but has ended up on a collision course with the president after taking a stand for the women who fell victim to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Sweden-US relations
Hegseth praises Sweden after meeting with Johnson

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth highlights Sweden as a positive example in NATO after this weekend's meeting with Defense Minister Pål Jonson.

“Sweden has rapidly increased its investments in defense and sees its new membership in NATO as a reason to increase the pace, not slow down,” Hegseth writes on X.

He has also posted a video clip from the meeting with his Swedish colleague.

– Sweden’s support is crucial for Europe to be able to take primary responsibility for its conventional defense, Hegseth says in the clip.
