Slovakia's coalition government has fallen.
This after Prime Minister Eduard Heger lost a no-confidence vote in parliament, TT reports.
Of the parliament's 150 members, 78 voted to depose Heger.
He leads the conservative party Vanligt folk, which is part of a three-party minority government. The vote of no confidence was brought by the Liberal Party three months after the government lost its majority in parliament.
Social Democratic Party leader Peter Pellegrini sees it positively.
- It is the best possible Christmas present for the Slovak people, says Pellegrini.
The fall of the government means either that President Zuzana Caputová appoints a new prime minister or that the country moves towards new elections.

Slovakia's government deposed by former cooperation party
Slovakia's minority government has been ousted in a vote of no confidence initiated by former coalition partner Freedom and Solidarity, which left the government as recently as September. This is reported by several media.
At least 76 votes were required to oust the government and Frihet og solidarity collected a total of 78 votes.
According to Bloomberg, the board has disagreed on a number of issues recently, including how companies and households should be reimbursed for the high electricity prices.
Freedom and solidarity have been particularly critical of the government as it is considered that they have failed in the work against corruption, AP writes.
A possible option going forward is new elections. It requires the support of two-thirds of the parliament.
