Thai Airways has been forced to fly in technicians from Thailand to repair the planes that left travelers stranded at Arlanda.

Now the company responds:

- The information could have been better, says Jonas Broström at Thai Airways.

The Thai Airways plane that was supposed to take off from Arlanda to Bangkok on Saturday broke down and didn't leave until Monday evening - over two days late.

The plane that was supposed to take off on Sunday also broke down, and has not yet taken off from Arlanda.

Tuesday's flight from Arlanda to Bangkok is also delayed, but should hopefully be able to take off later on Tuesday evening, according to Thai Airways' Swedish sales manager, Jonas Broström.

- The two flights that were canceled this weekend both had the same hydraulic fault, and have both been stationary for two days, says Jonas Broström.

Flew in technicians from Thailand

Due to the errors, the airline was forced to fly in technicians from Thailand to repair the aircraft, which according to Jonas Broström have leaked hydraulic oil.

Aftonbladet reported on Monday several hundred travelers who, because of the errors, were stranded at Arlanda.

In total, around 630 people are affected by the major delays, and travelers that Aftonbladet spoke to have expressed frustration with the situation and because Thai Airways' customer service has been closed and the information scarce.

- Many of us have called the airline and they have said that a representative from Thai Airways should come here and inform us. But no one has come, says passenger Christine Degner from Örebro, who stayed for two days at Arlanda, in a previous article.

Obliged to pay compensation

According to Jonas Broström, information about the delays has been sent out via e-mail to the travelers.
- But you can never get too much information, it can always be better, he says, and says that the airline paid for hotels and meals for travelers.

According to EU legislation, Thai Airways is obliged to pay compensation to affected travelers for the delays that have occurred.

According to Jonas Broström, information about this must have gone out to the travelers concerned.

- If you have not received an email, you can also email customer@thaiairways.com, says Jonas Broström.
