The Russian invasion. The outside world's response
Analysis: Patriot delivery will anger Moscow If the US sends the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine, it is a "substantial escalation" from President Joe Biden, writes Expressen's Mats Larsson in an analysis.
He writes that Ukraine faces major problems this winter if Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure continue, which is one reason why the system is high on President Zelenskyi's wish list. If Patriot is delivered, the system will be the most advanced that the US has sent, according to Larsson.
"It will certainly annoy Moscow," writes Larsson, who at the same time emphasizes that it is a defense system.
The BBC's defense correspondent Jonathan Beale also writes about the media information surrounding the Patriot. He believes that such a supply would be limited, as demand is high in many parts of the world, while it is expensive and requires training.
Beale points out that the US has previously turned down Ukrainian requests to get the system, but that the threat of Iran supplying Russia with ballistic missiles may now lead to a different decision.

Details: Favorable weather helped Ukraine shell the Russian flagship Moscow
Dense "low-reflective clouds" allowed Ukraine to detect the Russian flagship Moskva, which was sunk in April, even though it was actually beyond the range of radar systems. This is written by the independent Russian site Meduza with reference to Ukrainska Pravda.
According to sources, the radar signal must have bounced between the water surface and the clouds and detected a large object out at sea. Early on, the Ukrainian army understood that it must be about Moscow.
Then followed a couple of intense minutes before the decision was made to bombard it with Neptun robots. The sources suggest that the ship's air defenses were probably not activated because the crew believed they could not be detected.
Previous media reports have claimed that US intelligence assisted in providing Ukraine with the correct coordinates. According to the official Ukrainian version, robots sank the ship, while Russia claimed that it sank after a fire on board.
