Donald Trump was to make a dramatic announcement on Thursday.

Many have speculated as to what the big news could be.

Now he puts his cards on the table.

On Wednesday, former US President Donald Trump announced that he would deliver big news on Thursday.

"I will leave an important message tomorrow. Thank you very much," says Donald Trump in the post published on Truth Social yesterday.

The screen then fills with a superhero-style cartoon of Trump with his shirt ripped open to reveal his slim suit with a "T" across his chest - with laser beams shooting from burning eyes.

No further explanation or context was given.

The mysterious post has caused political commentators around the world to speculate wildly about what the news would be about.

The news came tonight.

"Could be a good Christmas present"

From now on, you will be able to buy digital collectible cards - so-called NFTs - depicting Donald Trump, the ex-president announces in a post on Truth Social.

"These limited editions contain amazing ART from my life and career!" Trump writes.

He also announces that they can be purchased for "only" $99 each. Among other things, the images depict Trump as an astronaut, fighter pilot, sheriff and celebrity on the red carpet.

“Could be a good Christmas present. Don't wait. They will run out, I think, very quickly!”, he also writes.

If you buy a lot of cards - 45 to be precise - you can also have dinner with the former president.

As it stands now, there will be a "maximum of 45,000" NFTs produced.

The announcement of the digital art has sparked reactions on social media as well as in the American media.

"Who convinced Donald Trump that NFTs were a good idea?" asks a Washington Post columnist.

Well there it is.
