Ahmedabad plane crash

Only survivor devastated after plane crash: “Sitting inside and doing nothing”

British citizen Viswashkumar Ramesh was the only survivor when Air India Flight 171 crashed earlier this year. In an interview with Sky News’ morning program “Mornings with Ridge and Frost,” he now says that the trauma has broken him down. Among the 241 passengers who died in the crash was his younger brother Ajaykumar.

“It’s very painful to talk about the plane,” he says.

During the interview, Ramesh pauses for long moments as he talks about his life today. He says that he no longer leaves his home, but sits in his bedroom “doing nothing.”

“I just think about my brother. He was everything to me,” says Ramesh.
