Chief Military Prosecutor Arrested After Video Leak – Large Search Operation Yesterday

Israel's Chief Military Prosecutor, Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, has been arrested, writes Haaretz.

Tomer-Yerushalmi has found herself in a storm of controversy after a video was leaked showing Israeli soldiers subjecting a Palestinian prisoner to severe abuse at the Sde Teiman military facility.

She has admitted that she gave permission for the film to be sent to the media and the IDF suspended her last week.

Yesterday, Tomer-Yerushalmi was reported missing. According to media reports, her family has found a suicide note, which led to a large search operation.

After being found alive, Tomer-Yerushalmi is said to have undergone a medical examination, writes the Times of Israel.

US Ambassador: Britons Should Drill for More Oil

The US Ambassador to the UK, Warren Stephens, believes that the British should drill for more oil and gas in the North Sea. He says this in a major interview with Sky News.

He points out that electricity prices are significantly higher in the UK than in the US, and that this is hampering Britain's economic development.

- You use gas and oil, but you import it. Why not use your own? he asks in the interview.

The British Energy Minister has previously said that it is more important to achieve the goal of net zero emissions by 2030 than to drill for new oil and gas. However, both the conservative Tories and the right-wing populist Reform UK have opened up for new drilling.
