Report: Musk wants to take Space X public next year
Elon Musk has told investors and institutions that his plan is to take Space X public by the end of 2026, two sources told The Information.
The forecast was made during ongoing negotiations for a sale of existing shares, where the space company is valued at $800 billion according to sources to the Wall Street Journal. This corresponds to a doubling compared to the latest valuation from last summer.
Space X could be valued at just over $7.5 trillion
Space X is negotiating a sale of existing shares in a transaction that would value Elon Musk's space company at $800 billion, equivalent to just over 7,500 billion kronor. This is according to information to the Wall Street Journal.
If so, it would make the space company the world's most valuable startup. OpenAI was valued at $500 billion in October.
Elon Musk's X
EU fines Musk's X billion
The European Commission is demanding that X, formerly Twitter, pay a fine of just over 1.3 billion kronor for violating the Data Services Act. Reuters reports.
The fines include a lack of transparency in advertisements and misleading design around the "blue tick" used for paying customers. The investigation into X has been ongoing since December 2023.
- I really expect that we will make decisions more quickly in the future, Commission Vice President Henna Virkkunen told reporters.
The fact that the investigation has taken so long has led to speculation that the EU would acquit X, due to the harsh criticism directed at the EU's data laws by X owner Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump.
X has not responded to Reuters' request for comment.

Saab and Airbus in talks about cooperation on drones
Saab and Airbus are in talks about a technical collaboration on unmanned combat aircraft, Reuters reports.
The dialogue, which is confirmed by both CEOs, concerns closer cooperation that should be able to support today's manned combat aircraft.
- We have discussed whether we can do something on the unmanned side that complements our existing combat aircraft, says Saab CEO Micael Johansson, who adds that the company is also in discussions with other parties.
If the project is successful, it could, according to sources, pave the way for broader air defense cooperation, especially if the troubled so-called FCAS project were to collapse. No definitive decisions have yet been made.
