World events follow one another.

One thing is recurring.

Iran

Thousands have been killed and arrested during the latest violent protests in Iran. Donald Trump has said that ”help is on the way” and has opened up for an attack on the regime. Just before midnight, Iran suddenly closed its airspace.

According to a source to Reuters, "all signals" pointed to an American attack being imminent.

Last night, Trump stated that he had been assured that both the violence against the protesters and the executions would end.

Venezuela

Donald Trump began the year by ensuring the arrest of country's President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

- We will rule the country, he said.

The action came after months of American attacks on alleged drug ships in the Pacific. Trump has accused Maduro of being "one of the world's largest drug traffickers" who is responsible for thousands of drug-related deaths in the United States.

On Wednesday night, the United States reportedly made its first sale of oil from Venezuela,   CNN reports, citing a government source.

Ukraine

What Trump said would be one of the easiest promises to fulfill has proven more difficult. After a year in power, Russia's extensive attacks on Ukraine continue and no peace agreement has been reached.

In an interview with Reuters, the president says that Russia's Vladimir Putin wants peace. Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelenskyj, on the other hand, are more hesitant, according to him.

When asked what is preventing progress in the negotiations, the answer is short:

– Zelenskyj.

Minneapolis

– This is an impossible situation that our city is currently in.

That's what Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says after another person in the city was shot by an ICE agent.

3,000 ICE agents have been deployed in the city and widespread protests have been ongoing since 37-year-old Renee Good was shot to death last week.

The Trump administration has accused her of trying to run over the ICE agent. At the same time, video analyses by the New York Times and Washington Post show that two of the three shots were fired from the side.

One of those who has come under heavy attack after the incident is the Swedish artist Zara Larsson.

“Trying to justify unfair treatment because ‘illegal immigrants are criminals’, from ICE, just because of the word ILLEGAL is absolutely crazy,” she wrote on Instagram last week.

The White House responded with a video to Donald Trump to Zara Larsson’s “Lush life.”

“I love ICE,” the post read, among other things.

Greenland and Denmark

The rhetoric is getting tougher and Donald Trump is becoming increasingly assertive.

“NATO should pave the way for us to get it,” he wrote on Truth Social ahead of Wednesday’s fateful meeting on Greenland.

The president claims that China or Russia will take over Greenland if the US doesn’t.

During the meeting, a possible amount was reportedly presented. At the same time, Greenland and Denmark have been clear:

– Greenland will not be owned by the United States, Greenland will not be governed by the United States, and Greenland will not be part of the United States, said Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen at a press conference together with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen earlier this week.

Denmark has reinforced its military presence on the island and on Wednesday it was announced that Sweden would also send military personel.
