ICE chief to court for lack of due process
Minnesota's federal judge Patrick Schiltz orders the immigration agency ICE's top manager, Todd Lyons, to appear in court on Friday. Several media outlets report this. There he will be questioned about the due process for undocumented migrants arrested by ICE.
Schiltz criticizes the treatment of those arrested and refers to a case with a man who was detained longer than allowed.

The images and videos from Minnesota, which did not match the administration's version of what happened when nurse Alex Pretti was shot to death, caused Donald Trump to start to tone down his rhetoric on Monday. Sources tell Axios. An administration adviser says the handling was wrong.
“The president realized he had to sort it out,” the source says.
Trump has spoken with Minnesota’s governor and Minneapolis mayor, both Democrats, and has removed Border Patrol Commissioner Gregory Bovino.
“He’s a cowboy, and it was a total mess,” says a source with insight into ICE’s operations in the state.
Instead, “border czar” Tom Homan is taking over responsibility for the immigration agency’s operation. The source describes it as Homan “stepping in” because of the complicated situation.
