After the bloody protests – US exercises in the Middle East
The US will hold a multi-day military exercise in the Middle East, reports The Guardian. Exactly when the exercise will take place or which forces will be involved is not known, but Donald Trump has recently announced that an “armada” of US ships has been ordered to the region. Among them is the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.
The exercise takes place shortly after the Iranian regime cracked down on the widespread protests in the country, resulting in thousands of deaths.
Donald Trump has talked on several occasions about attacking Iran but has recently downplayed the threats. Instead, he recently told Axios that he believes Iran is ready to “reach a deal”.
– I know that. They have been in touch several times, they want to talk, Trump said.
Sources that CNN has spoken to state that Trump has not yet made a decision on how he will act.
Trump's new threat: "Massive armada heading for Iran"
A massive American "armada" is heading for Iran, writes Donald Trump on Truth Social. According to the American president, the fleet is larger than the one the US sent to Venezuela.
"Just like in Venezuela, the fleet is ready and willing to complete its mission, quickly and aggressively if necessary," writes Trump.
He further writes that he hopes that Iran is ready to sit down at the negotiating table and agree to an agreement in which the country promises not to develop nuclear weapons.
"Time is running out," writes Trump.
The United States has previously announced that, among other things, the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is on its way to the Middle East to conduct a major exercise.
