Trump's USA Iran-US Relations

Sources: Trump considering new major attack on Iran

Donald Trump is considering carrying out new attacks on Iran, several sources tell CNN. The American president wants to reach an agreement that limits Iran's nuclear energy and weapons production.

He has in recent days demanded that the regime sit down at the negotiating table, but the parties are reportedly far apart.

Among the military measures now being considered are airstrikes against Iranian leaders and attacks on the country's nuclear facilities, according to the information.

Later this week, representatives of Israel and Saudi Arabia are to meet with the United States to talk about Iran, sources tell Axios. Saudi Arabia is said to want to find a diplomatic solution and Israel wants to share intelligence with the United States about possible targets in Iran.

Sources: Turkey wants to mediate between Iran and the USA

Turkey wants to mediate between the USA and Iran due to the tense situation between the countries. This is stated by sources for AFP. At the same time, a source says that Turkey will strengthen security at its borders if the USA attacks Iran.

Turkey and Iran share a border, and between the countries there is a wall that stretches over 380 kilometers. According to the source, this protection is insufficient and therefore plans are made to deploy more troops in the area, among other things.

Tomorrow, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will travel to Turkey to talk to his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan about the situation between the USA and Iran.

After Iran cracked down on protests in the country, Trump has stated that an American war fleet is on its way and is very close to the country. Iran, in turn, has said that it "will respond like never before" if the US attacks.
