Trump's Iran threat: Fleet on the way - negotiate now
A "massive war fleet" is on its way to Iran, US President Donald Trump writes on social media.
He urges Iran to quickly come to the negotiating table and make a deal, otherwise attacks await.
"No nuclear weapons," Trump writes in capital letters - likely referring to Iran's disputed nuclear energy program.
The war fleet is moving quickly and is led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln. It is larger than the one sent to Venezuela, according to the president.
"Like in Venezuela, it is ready, willing and able to quickly carry out its mission," Trump writes and urges Iran to negotiate a settlement that is good for all parties.
“Time is running out, it’s really urgent,” he added.
In the long post, Trump writes about the US operation Operation Midnight Hammer against Iran last summer. He claims that it followed Iran’s refusal to make “a deal.”
“The next attack will be much worse!”
Iran has been rocked by protests in recent weeks, during which the internet has been shut down and thousands of activists have been killed, according to exile organizations. Donald Trump has threatened to take action against the regime in Tehran because of the violence used against demonstrators. Ali Larijani, a member of the Shiite Islamic dictatorship’s National Security Council, claimed the other day that it is Trump who is encouraging violence.
The US military has previously announced that it will conduct a several-day exercise in the Middle East, led by the Air Force.

He continues:

quickly – by force if necessary.”
“The hope is that Iran will
quickly sit down at the negotiating table and agree to a fair agreement
without nuclear weapons, an agreement that benefits all parties. Time is
short and the situation is very urgent.”
