The fighting
Great Britain to send new missiles to Ukraine
Great Britain will develop new ballistic missiles with a range of over 500 kilometers and send them to Ukraine, the British government announced in a statement.
The missiles will be able to be fired from various types of vehicles and are intended to be a cost-effective long-range weapon for the Ukrainian military.
The new missiles “will give Putin yet another thing to worry about,” says Luke Pollard, minister responsible for the defense industry.
The negotiations
Young Swedes think Ukraine should trade land for peace
25 percent of Swedes think Ukraine should agree to give up territory if it means peace with Russia. This is shown by an opinion poll conducted by Indikator for Ekot.
According to Indikator’s head of opinion Per Oleskog Tryggvason, it is not political affiliation that most clearly influences where people stand on the issue. Instead, it has to do with age, where “young people would rather have peace” – even if it comes at the expense of territory.
– Unfortunately, if it’s a price, then maybe it makes sense for the people who live there, says Gabriel, which differs from the older Gunilla’s response that “it feels like a defeat”.
