A large, blue-black mark on US President Donald Trump's hand raised questions during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The explanation? Aspirin, according to the president.

On the flight home from Davos, Trump showed his hand to reporters. He claimed that the bruise appeared when he hit a table - and explained the appearance with a high intake of the drug Aspirin, which he takes for his heart.

- I would say you should take Aspirin if you like your heart, but don't take Aspirin if you don't want a little bruising, he said, according to the news site The Hill.

- I take the big Aspirin. And when you take the big Aspirin they say you get bruises.

Aspirin affects the blood's ability to clot, which can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.

Trump, who is almost 80, has been seen with large bruises on several occasions in the past year.
