Trump withdraws Canada's invitation to the Peace Council
A
number of countries have received an invitation to Trump's newly
established peace council, the "Board of Peace". Some have accepted,
others have refused and several invitations have not yet been responded
to. However, Canada's invitation has been withdrawn. Donald Trump
announced this on Truth Social, The Guardian reports.

Trump does not give a further explanation for the decision. However, he
and Canadian leader Mark Carney recently got into a war of words during
the World Economic Forum in Davos. There, Trump criticized Carney's
statement that the world order is about to change as a result of Trump's
aggressive policies.
This is Trump's Peace Council
- Donald Trump has invited the leaders of about 50 countries to his "peace council". In addition, his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will sit on the council. Trump himself will be the chairman.
- According to the Trump administration, 35 countries have accepted. This information has not yet been confirmed.
- So far, countries such as Israel, Hungary, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Argentina, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Egypt have said they are in favour.
- Countries such as Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Slovenia and France have said they cannot join the Council as it stands now.
