Spanish Prime Minister's wife to stand trial
The Spanish Prime Minister's wife, Begoña Gómez, is to stand trial for corruption, Spanish media report.
The charges include that Gómez used her relationship with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to influence authorities and officials, and to advance her own career.
The decision comes after a year-long investigation. One charge of misconduct has been dropped, but four counts remain.
The Spanish government has repeatedly denied that Gómez did anything wrong. The administration believes that the charges against her are politically motivated.
