Politico: No Orbán at summit

Hungarian outgoing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will not participate in next week's EU summit, Politico Europe reports.

The news site refers to information from an EU source ahead of the informal two-day meeting in Cyprus on April 23-24.

If true, there will most likely be no more EU summits for Orbán. The next planned meeting will be held just before midsummer in Brussels, when this weekend's Hungarian election winner Péter Magyar is already assumed to have taken office as the new prime minister.

At the meeting in Cyprus, Hungary's interests are expected to be handled by Robert Fico, Prime Minister of neighboring Slovakia.

No official statement from Hungary has yet been made.
