Last night's drone attack on an Iranian munitions factory came from Israel.

That's what sources told the Wall Street Journal.

- If Iran makes mistakes, our attack capability is ready, says the chief of staff of the Israeli military.

According to US government sources to the Wall Street Journal, it was Israel that was behind the attacks against a military facility outside the city of Isfahan in Iran late Saturday evening. According to Reuters, it should have been about an ammunition factory.

"An explosion has occurred in one of the military centers attached to the Ministry of Defense," Mohammad Reza Jan-Nesari, deputy security chief of the Isfahan governorate, told the state-affiliated Fars News Agency.

According to the Wall Street Journal's sources, it is an investment by the United States and Israel to prevent Tehran's nuclear ambitions. The attack is the first carried out against Iran by Israel's new government. Israel did not want to comment on the attacks.

"Three little drones"

According to Iran's Ministry of Defense, it was drones that attacked.

“It was a failed attack by small drones against an industrial complex in the Department of Defense and fortunately had warning systems and air defense arrangements in place. One of them hit," the state news agency IRNA writes in a post on Twitter, referring to the country's defense ministry.

“The complex's air defense system was able to destroy two other drones. Fortunately, this failed attack killed no one and caused minor damage to the roof of the complex," they write further.

Foreign Minister visits Israel

As part of the discussions regarding how the US and Israel should handle Iran's military ambitions in the Middle East and its cooperation with Russia, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit the country on Monday. That just a week after the countries conducted their largest ever joint military exercise.

General Herzi Halevi, chief of staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, said the military drills sent "a very clear message to Iran".

- If Iran makes mistakes, our offensive capability is ready.

Disagree about Russia

A stumbling block between the two countries is Ukraine. The US wants Israel to provide support to the Ukrainian military, especially as Iran supplies the Russians with drones. So far, Israel has declined to provide direct support. Something that Moscow has warned would negatively affect the countries' relations. Israel and Russia have an agreement that allows the Israelis to shell Iranian targets in Syria. An agreement they fear will be terminated if they provide direct support to Ukraine.
