The political rift over gun laws in the United States is exposed again after the school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, international media reports. President Joe Biden is repeating his message that he "can do nothing at all except plead with Congress to act sensibly," according to ABC News.  

At the same time, he criticizes the Republicans because its representatives show their participation in the shooting in the form of prayers and thoughts instead of acting politically and tightening gun laws. 

- As a country, we owe these families more than prayers. We owe them action, says Biden.  

Barry Black, the chaplain of the Senate, does not target any particular party but agrees that politicians need to "move beyond thoughts and prayers," writes Forbes.
