Suspected Chinese spy linked to Prince Andrew
A suspected Chinese spy with links to Britain's Prince Andrew has been named by the British judiciary, The Guardian reports.
It is 50-year-old Yang Tengbo who is accused of spying for the Chinese Communist Party. He has lived in the UK for almost 20 years and was a top manager at the consultancy Hampton Group.
During her years in the country, Yang has, among other things, been invited to Prince Andrew's private birthday parties. He has also been photographed with former Prime Ministers David Cameron and Theresa May.
British authorities flagged Yang back in 2021 but he has been kept anonymous until today.
Yang says the suspicions are poorly substantiated and that he has done nothing wrong. Prince Andrew's staff say he has never discussed anything sensitive with Yang.
Prince Andrew is not expected to attend the court Christmas celebrations
According to several British media reports, Prince Andrew will not attend the British court's official Christmas break.
A source tells the BBC that Andrew is "gloriously withdrawing" from the event.
There is no official explanation as to why Andrew is not participating. But the news comes hours after it emerged that Andrew has been hanging out with suspected Chinese spy Yang Tengbo.
Prince Andrew has for several years been criticized for his association with the convicted American pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
