Netanyahu in the buffer zone: “Israel is staying”
Israeli forces will stay in the recently captured buffer zone in Syria until Israel finds another solution that ensures the country’s security. This is what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a visit to the occupied Golan Heights, Reuters reports.
Israel occupied parts of the UN-controlled buffer zone in connection with the fall of the Syrian regime just over a week ago. The incursion has previously been described as temporary and as a way to secure the Israeli border.
Last week, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz urged the military to prepare to stay in the area over the winter, The Guardian reports.

The Armed Forces emphasized on Tuesday that the Russian planes never violated Swedish territory and that they sent the plane to show presence.

France: Kremlin is manipulating influencers in Europe
France has evidence that Russia is trying to manipulate influencers in several European countries, says Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot according to Reuters.
– Investigations are ongoing and we urge content creators and their followers to be extremely vigilant about these threats to our public debate, says Barrot.
An intelligence source told Le Monde that more than 2,000 European influencers have been contacted by people close to the Kremlin, who have tried to get them to spread pro-Russian narratives. About twenty, nine of whom are French, have reportedly agreed to do so.
Last fall, the US Department of Justice accused Russian state media of paying large sums of money to conservative podcasters and YouTubers.

Political situation in Liberia
Fire in parliament building in Liberia after protests
The Liberian fire service worked on Wednesday to put out a fire in the parliament building in the capital, Monrovia, reports the AP. Local authorities have not commented on the cause of the fire, but large protests against the government broke out yesterday.
President Joseph Boakai has asked for the incident to be investigated. He also took the opportunity to condemn the “reckless destruction” in Liberia.
The protests, led by the opposition, are aimed at, among other things, the speaker of parliament, who is accused of corruption. Demonstrators are also calling on the president to resign.
