Nordea does not believe in a lower interest rate this year or next
Nordea's economists do not believe that the Riksbank will lower the key interest rate this year or next year, writes TT.
If the Riksbank lowers the interest rate, it would lower the krona. Which in turn would create new inflation problems, the bank argues.
"For households, it is central that inflation comes down and that weighs more heavily than another key interest rate cut," writes the bank.
According to an economic forecast from earlier this week, Swedbank's economists expect two key interest rate cuts already this year. SEB's economists believe that the Riksbank will be content with one cut.
Swedish funds have shares in blacklisted weapons company
Two Swedish funds have bought shares in the blacklisted Israeli weapons company Elbit, reports Ekot.
The fund companies involved are Movestic and Lysa, which have invested in the weapons manufacturer. The company is blacklisted by several funds worldwide for arms sales and human rights violations.
– If you want to invest in Israel's largest arms company, all warning bells should ring, says Fair Finance Guide CEO Jakob König.
Movestic's Anna Mollstedt states that the holding will be sold, while Lysa refers to the fact that the index funds that the fund company invests in are determined by a subcontractor.
Swedish car top dismisses the goal of zero emissions
The EU's goal of zero emissions by 2035 for cars is no longer realistic. This is what leaders from car and supplier organizations say, according to Reuters.
Dependence on Asian batteries, uneven charging infrastructure, high costs and Donald Trump's tariffs are some of the reasons why the goal is not reasonable to achieve, write, among others, Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius and Schaeffler CEO Matthias Zink in a letter to the European Commission.
“Meeting the strict emission targets for cars and vans for 2030 and 2035 is, in today’s world, simply no longer possible.”
Instead, a broader strategy is needed with room for hybrids, efficient combustion engines, hydrogen and renewable fuels, say the executives.
Expert: Swift’s ring worth 7 million – affects the industry
Taylor Swift and American football player Travis Kelce’s engagement could have a major impact on the economy. Just over a day after the news broke, her ring has attracted a lot of attention and the dress she wore in the engagement photos has sold out.
– The engagement ring is estimated to be worth over 7 million kronor, it’s enormous, says Lisa Levinsson, head of the Natural Diamond Council in the UK.
She believes the news has great significance for the diamond industry and compares the effects on sales to when an author wins the Nobel Prize. Now she predicts that demand will increase for old-fashioned stones.
The diamond company Signet Jewelersaktie rose at most 10 percent yesterday.
