UN Demands Accountability for Hospital Attack

Israel's attack on the al-Nasser Hospital in Gaza must have consequences, says Thameen al-Kheetan, spokesperson for the UN Human Rights Council.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called the attack a tragic accident and the military has promised an investigation. Investigations into war crimes in Gaza are almost always closed or inconclusive, according to a report published last week.

- We have not yet seen results or accountability. We want accountability, says Thameen al-Kheetan.

20 people, including five journalists, were killed in Israel's attack on Monday.

Palestinians Trained to Form Large Security Force in Gaza

Egypt is currently training hundreds of Palestinians to be part of a 10,000-strong security force in the Gaza Strip after the war, Arab representatives told the Wall Street Journal. The Palestinian Authority (PA), which governs the West Bank, confirms the plan.

The vision for the future is a Gaza free of Hamas. Many Arab countries have recently explicitly opposed the terrorist group's activities in the strip. This summer, the 22 countries of the Arab League called on Hamas for the first time to lay down its arms and relinquish control of Gaza.

The majority of the Palestinians now being trained are said to come from the PA's security service in the West Bank. This is not expected to be popular in Israel, since the country largely equates the PA with Hamas. The security force is otherwise to consist mostly of Egyptian soldiers, according to the information.

Hamas rejects the plan, while Israel declines to comment.

US Holds Meeting on Gaza's Future - Sees End to War

Donald Trump will hold a meeting on the future of Gaza after the war on Wednesday, envoy Steve Witkoff tells Fox News. According to Witkoff, the US will develop “a comprehensive plan” for the Gaza Strip, but he does not go into any details.

He also says that the US expects the war to end before the end of the year.

“We believe that we will have a solution, one way or another, before the end of the year.
