Middle East Crisis

Protests
Hundreds of thousands protest against the Israeli government

Hundreds of thousands of people demonstrated across Israel on Tuesday, Israeli media reported. The demonstrators demanded an immediate ceasefire and the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza.

The largest protests were in Tel Aviv. Highways were blocked and people protested outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office while the security cabinet was meeting. Finally, people gathered at the Tel Aviv Museum Plaza, also known as the Hostage Square. According to organizers, 350,000 people attended, the Times of Israel reports.

- We have been waiting for almost two years, it is as if Netanyahu is doing it deliberately, Ofir Braslavski, father of hostage Rom Braslavski, told the crowd.

The initiative for the protests was taken by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, which represents several of the hostages and their families. A similar protest day took place last Sunday, reports Haaretz.

Reactions to the Iran Conflict
IAEA inspectors back in Iran after the war

The UN Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has inspectors back in Iran. This is what its director, Rafael Grossi, said in an interview with Fox News.

This is the first time that the UN agency's inspectors have been allowed into the country since Iran suspended cooperation with it following the 12-day war in June. Grossi says that some nuclear facilities in Iran were damaged in the conflict.

- We are discussing what kind of practical arrangements can be made to facilitate the resumption of our work there.
