Trump: Believes Nicolás Maduro's days are numbered
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro will not stay in power much longer, according to US President Donald Trump. In the CBS program "60 Minutes", Trump is asked if he believes Maduro's days are numbered.
- I would say so. I believe so, is the answer.
He does not want to confirm that the military mobilization off the coast of Venezuela is a preparation for an attack on the country.
- I will not talk to a reporter about whether I will attack, he says.
Trump also says that he "does not believe" that the situation will develop into a full-scale war between the countries.
Bildt believes in attacks - but no major invasion
Everything indicates that the United States will carry out attacks inside Venezuela. This is what former Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt says in SVT's Morgonstudion. According to Bildt, it is obvious that Donald Trump is planning some type of operation and he guesses that “something” is probably already underway.
– I don’t think he is going to launch a major invasion, he doesn’t dare, it would be too difficult, says Bildt.
He believes that this is a serious situation and a crisis, but hopes that it can be limited to the Caribbean region.
