Iran's airspace open after tense night
Updated 09.16 | Published 00.18
Iran's airspace has been open again since Thursday morning. It was closed for much of the night.
The airspace over Iran was closed to commercial aircraft for a total of five hours during the night to Thursday, in light of increased concerns about military clashes between the United States and Iran.
On Thursday morning, both domestic and international flights are running again.
However, several international airlines had already decided not to fly over Iran before the airspace was closed, as a result of the increased tensions.
A long list of countries have urged their citizens to leave Iran as soon as possible. It will be possible to leave the country both by air and by land towards Turkey, by either train or car.
