Iran warns: The slightest attack means full-scale war

Iran warns that the slightest attack from the US would mean a full-scale war, Sky News and Reuters report.

The warning comes less than two weeks after Donald Trump urged protesters in Iran to continue fighting, while the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and its accompanying battle group were directed towards the region.

No attack from the US was ever carried out, but Trump said on Thursday that an "armada" is on the way and that he hopes to avoid using it.

- This time we will consider any attack - limited, unlimited, surgical, kinetic, whatever they call it - as a full-scale war against us, and we will respond in the harshest way possible to put an end to this, an Iranian official told Reuters.

Norwegian cancels flights to Dubai after Trump's threat

Norwegian is canceling its flights from Oslo to Dubai this weekend, Dagbladet reports.

This is being done "in light of the security situation in the region and with consideration for the safety of passengers and staff", according to press spokesperson Lina Lindegaard Carlsen.

Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Swiss and United Airlines have also canceled flights to the Middle East for the same reason.

This is happening after Trump's escalating war of words with Iran and concerns about an American military intervention. Trump has sent several warships - an "armada", in his own words - to Iran.

KLM stops flights over parts of the Middle East

The Dutch airline KLM is avoiding large parts of the Middle East for the time being, Reuters reports.

“As a precautionary measure, given the geopolitical situation, KLM will not fly through the airspace of Iran, Iraq and Israel, nor over several countries in the Gulf region,” a spokesman told Reuters.

Fears of a war between the United States and Iran have recently increased. After widespread protests in Iran, Donald Trump urged protesters to continue fighting and that help was on the way, but no American intervention followed.

The United States, however, has redirected the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln with its battle group to the region, where it is expected to arrive in the coming days.

Earlier in the day, an Iranian regime source told Reuters that the slightest attack on Iran would be considered a “full-scale war.”
