Russian invasion Negotiations

Kremlin: We will never talk to EU foreign policy chief

Russia will never discuss any issue with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. That was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Sunday, Reuters reports.

– And the Americans will not discuss anything with her either, and that is obvious. What can we do? We simply have to wait until she leaves, says Peskov.

The announcement comes three days after Kaja Kallas announced that the EU is establishing a new special tribunal to prosecute Russian leaders for their role in the war of aggression against Ukraine. Ten million euros have been allocated for the purpose.

“Russia’s leaders bear responsibility for this war, and they must be held accountable. Impunity cannot be accepted,” Kallas wrote this week.

It has almost been four years since Russia launched an attack on Ukraine.

Sources: Another trilateral meeting after Abu Dhabi

More trilateral meetings between the US, Russia and Ukraine are expected after the talks in Abu Dhabi in recent days, American sources told Politico.

The talks in Abu Dhabi were the first trilateral meeting since Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. According to one of the sources, the latest meeting was mainly about de-escalation, the economy and who will control the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia.

No agreement was reached, but according to the source, Russia is pressing to share the power plant's electricity with Ukraine.

When the next trilateral meeting will be held and who will participate is unclear.
