The protests in Minnesota continue after the immigration police ICE killed a man in Minneapolis on Saturday.

December 2025: Immigration police ICE begins an operation in Minneapolis and the neighboring city of Saint Paul. Several people are arrested.
January 6, 2026:
The operations are expanded in the state of Minnesota against migrants who are illegally in the United States. Around 2,000 representatives of the immigration unit ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) are then in the state. Large protests are held against the immigration police operations.
January 7:
Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, a U.S. citizen, is shot and killed by an ICE agent while in a car in Minneapolis. Both Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey have sharply criticized ICE for its actions. However, President Donald Trump and Kristi Noem, Secretary of Homeland Security, have defended the shooting, claiming that the ICE agent acted in self-defense. Since the shooting of Renee Good, daily protests against immigration enforcement have been held in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
