Swede arrested in Thailand – wanted for drug trafficking

A Swedish citizen has been arrested in Thailand.
The man was internationally wanted for serious drug crimes, writes Hua Hin Today.
The man was arrested in a luxury apartment in Hua Hin on Saturday, January 17.
According to reports, neighbors in the building have tipped off the police that the man was behaving suspiciously.
He
rarely left his home, avoided contact with others and used cannabis
inside the apartment, which spread a strong odor that disturbed the
neighbors, writes the news site.
When inspectors checked the man,
they were able to identify him and discovered that he was wanted by
Swedish authorities. He was assessed as “a risk to public and national
security” and arrested him.
The man is internationally wanted by
Interpol, suspected of involvement in extensive and large-scale drug
trafficking. According to Thai police, he was convicted in Sweden and
has avoided a prison sentence.
