A Swedish citizen has been arrested in Thailand.

The man was internationally wanted for serious drug crimes, writes Hua Hin Today.

The man was arrested in a luxury apartment in Hua Hin on Saturday, January 17.

According to reports, neighbors in the building have tipped off the police that the man was behaving suspiciously.

He rarely left his home, avoided contact with others and used cannabis inside the apartment, which spread a strong odor that disturbed the neighbors, writes the news site.

When inspectors checked the man, they were able to identify him and discovered that he was wanted by Swedish authorities. He was assessed as “a risk to public and national security” and arrested him.

The man is internationally wanted by Interpol, suspected of involvement in extensive and large-scale drug trafficking. According to Thai police, he was convicted in Sweden and has avoided a prison sentence.
