Trump: Killings in Iran have stopped

Iran no longer has any plans to execute detained protesters. This is what US President Donald Trump says.

– The killings in Iran have stopped. And there are no plans for executions, Trump says at a press conference at the White House and states that he has “received the information from credible sources”.

If Iran does execute protesters after all, “we will find out about it”, he says.

– If that happens, we will be very upset.

Trump has previously warned Iran of retaliation if the country starts executing protesters.

Iran's Chief Justice Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei said on Wednesday morning that speedy trials - and executions - await those arrested during the ongoing protests against the regime.
