At least nine killed in school shooting in Turkey

At least nine people have been killed and 13 injured in a shooting at an elementary school in southern Turkey, the country's interior minister said.

At least three students are among the dead, according to Kahramanmaras province governor Mükerrem Ünlüer. The shooter is also dead, according to AP.

- A student came to the school with a weapon that we believe belonged to his father in his backpack. He entered two classrooms and opened fire indiscriminately, he told reporters.

Three of the injured are in critical condition, according to Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci.

The motive for the attack is still unknown.

On Tuesday, 16 people, mostly students, were injured in a school shooting in the nearby province of Sanliurfa.
