แหล่งข่าวในวังแจ้งว่า ในช่วงเวลาสองสามเดือนที่ผ่านมา วชิราลงกรณ์ มีอาการคลุ้มคลั่งมากขึ้นเรื่อยมา ตั้งแต่เผชิญกับการวิพากย์วิจารณ์อย่างที่ไม่เคยปรากฏมาก่อน บนโซเชียลมีเดีย และการประท้วงอยู่เรื่อยๆของนักต่อสู้ชาวไทยและเยอรมันที่โรงแรมหรูที่เขาพักอยู่ในเยอรมนีกับฮาเร็มสาว 20 นาง
สื่อนานาชาติและในเยอรมันเอง ได้ลดความเกรงกลัวเกรงใจในการรายงานลูกเล่นไม่เข้าท่าของเขาในบาวาเรีย
หลังจากที่หนังสือพิมพ์บิลด์ ได้รายงานว่า วชิราลงกรณ์ ได้รับใบอนุญาตพิเศษ ให้เขาพักอยู่ที่ แกรนด์โฮเต็ล ซอนเนนบิคเค่ ในช่วงวิกฤตโควิด-19ได้นั้น นักการเมืองจากพรรคกรีนในเยอรมนี ก็เริ่มสอบถามในสภาทั้งทางรัฐและสหพันธรัฐ ว่าทำไมพระราชาถึงได้สิทธิพิเศษให้แหกกฎได้อย่างนั้น

ทั้งบนทวิตเต้ร์ และ เฟซบุค ต่างลุกเป็นไฟในช่วงสองสามเดือนนี้ ที่มีคนวิจารณ์วชิราลงกรณ์อย่างโจ่งแจ้งเปิดเผย
ในเดือน เมษายน ที่ผ่านมา หลังจากที่วชิราลงกรณ์ ได้แวะไปกลับเมืองไทย ใช้เวลากลับมาเยี่ยมบ้านแค่ 19 ชั่วโมง 48 นาที ผลาญเงินภาษีประชาชนจำนวนมหาศาล ก็มีแฮชแท็ก #กษัตริย์มีไว้ทําไม ให้คนทวีตต่อมากกว่าล้านครั้งไปแล้ว
ในเดือนพฤษภาคม ปวิน ชัชวาลย์พงศ์พันธ์ นักวิชาการผู้ลี้ภัย ได้เปิดตัวยกลุ่ม รอยัลลิสต์มาร์เก็ตเพลส บนเฟซทำการล้อเลียนสถาบันกษัตริย์อย่างเปิดเผย ซึ่งมีคนเข้าไปร่วมนับแสนๆ
แหล่งข่าวในวังแจ้งว่า วชิราลงกรณ์เป็นเดือดเป็นแค้น กับวิถีวิพากย์ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นเหล่านี้ จนถึงกับสั่งให้หัวหน้าฝ่ายองครักษ์ จักรภพ ภูริเดช ให้จัดการอุ้มฆ่านักต่อสู้ลี้ภัยในต่างแดน โดยคิดว่า จะสร้างความหวาดกลัวต่อผู้คนที่ทำการวิพากย์กษัตริย์ให้หยุดเงียบลงไป
สถานทูตไทยในต่างแดน ถูกสั่งให้สืบหาที่อยู่ที่พักอาศัยของผู้ลี้ภัยจากการมีความเห็นต่าง และทีมจักรภพก็เริ่มเล็งหาเป้าเพื่อลงมือทำการ
พวกเขาตัดสินใจเลือก วันเฉลิม สัตย์ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ เพราะเขาเป็นคนที่เป็นที่รู้จักกันในวงกว้าง ในหมู่ผู้ลี้ภัยไทยด้วยกันที่ยังคงพำนักอยู่ในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ซึ่งเป็นการง่ายต่อการตกเป็นเป้าตามฆ่า กว่าถ้าจะไปล่าคนในยุโรป สหรัฐอเมริกา หรือประเทศญี่ปุ่น
วันเฉลิม ไม่ใช่คนที่ไปวิจารณ์สถาบันกษัตริย์อะไรมากมาย และไม่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับการประท้วงในเยอรมนี หรือพูดอะไรในกลุ่มรอยัลลิสต์มาร์เก็ตเพลส แต่เขาถูกเลือกเป็นเป็นเป้า เพียงเพราะว่า เขาพักอยู่ในประเทศกัมพูชา ทำให้เป็นการง่ายต่อการจับไปฆ่า
สายการบินไทยในยุโรป ได้หยุดชะงักเที่ยวบินทั้งหมดเนื่องมาจากวิกฤตโควิด แต่ในวันที่ 21 พ.ค. มีเครื่องบินโบอิ้ง 777 บินออกจากสนามบินสุวรรณภูมิ ตรงไปยังกรุงมิวนิค
ต่อมาในเวลา 0959 น. ของวันที่ 21 เครื่องบินลำนั้น ก็บินออกจากสนามบินมิวนิค กลับมายังกรุงเทพฯ มีหน่วยราชองครักษ์ ซึ่งถูกสั่งให้มาควบคุมการดำเนินการอุ้มและฆาตกรรมวันเฉลิม มาลงจอดที่สนามบินสุวรรณภูมิ ในเวลา 0047 น. ของวันที่ 22 พฤษภาคม
แหล่งข่าวในวังแจ้งว่า จักรภพ ภูริเดช มาควบคุมการปฏิบัติงานของทีมด้วยตัวเอง ปกติแล้ว เขาจะประกบวชิราลงกรณ์ไม่เคยห่าง แต่เขาบินกลับมากรุงเทพฯ เพื่อมาควบคุมการดำเนินการฆ่าวันเฉลิมโดยตรง ในขณะที่ราชายังคงพักอยู่ในยุโรป
ในวันที่ 4 มิถุนายน วันเฉลิม ถูกรวบตัวโดยชายติดอาวุธหลายคน ที่ร้านขายอาหารข้างถนน ใกล้กับคอนโดฯที่เขาพักอยู่ในพนมเปญ แล้วไม่มีใครได้เห็นเขาอีกเลย แหล่งข่าวในวังเผยว่า เขาคงถูกฆ่าไปแล้วภายในเวลาไม่กี่ชั่วโมงหลังจากที่ถูกอุ้มหายไป
วันเฉลิม เป็นผู้ลี้ภัยชาวไทยที่เห็นต่างคนที่สิบ ที่พำนักอยู่ในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ที่ตกเป็นเป้าของทีมล่าสังหารของวชิราลงกรณ์
ตามแหล่งข่าวจากหน่วยรบพิเศษ ซึ่งรู้เห็นการฆาตกรรมที่ผ่านมา นักต่อสู้ที่ถูกอุ้มไป จะถูกทรมานและฆ่าทิ้งหลังจากที่ได้มีการอุ้มหาย แล้วศพก็จะถูกฝังในที่เปลี่ยวไกลผู้คน หรือทิ้งลงแม่น้ำ
เพราะว่าวชิราลงกรณ์มีความวิปริตจิตโหด ที่ชอบดูการทรมานและฆ่าคนที่เขาเชื่อว่าเป็นศัตรู การปฏิบัติการฆาตกรรม จะถูกบันทึกแล้วคลิปนั้นจะถูกส่งไปให้เขาดูเป็นการบันเทิงอารมณ์

นางแบบแฟชั่น ไปรยา ลุนเบิร์ก โดนถล่มทลายเพราะไม่ยอมออกความเห็นเกี่ยวกับ การอุ้มฆ่าวันเฉลิม ทั้งๆที่ตัวเองเป็นทูตสันถวไมตรี ของสำนักงานข้าหลวงใหญ่ผู้ลี้ภัยแห่งสหประชาชาติ หรือ UNHCR ในข้อความที่นางโพสต์บนอินสตาแกรม ที่นางได้ลบไปแล้ว กล่าวว่า นางได้ร้องห่มร้องไห้เสียน้ำตาในความเจ็บปวดรวดร้าว แต่ “มันไม่ใช่สนามรบของฉัน” เพราะนางทำหน้าที่เพียงเพื่อเป็นการโปรโมท “สันติภาพ และเรื่องที่ไม่เกี่ยวกับการเมือง

🍕🇬🇧 ANALYSIS—The kidnapping and probable murder of activist Wanchalearm Satsaksit in Cambodia is a grim tragedy that has further inflamed anger in Thailand about the criminal behaviour of King Vajiralongkorn and his allies in the military.
Palace sources say that over the past few months, Vajiralongkorn has become increasingly unhinged as he faces unprecedented criticism on social media and repeated protests by German and Thai activists at the luxury hotel in Bavaria where he lives with a harem of around 20 women.
German and international media have become more fearless about reporting on the king's antics in Bavaria. After BILD newspaper reported that Vajiralongkorn had been given special permission to continue staying at the Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl during the covid-19 pandemic, Green Party politicians in Germany began asking questions in the state and federal parliament about why the king was allowed to break the rules.
Meanwhile, activist group PixelHELPER and the ACT4DEM Thai organisation launched a series of protests at the Grand Hotel Sonnenbichl in the town of Garmish-Partenkirchen, where Vajiralongkorn spends most of his time.
Facebook and Twitter have also been ablaze in recent months with open criticism of Vajiralongkorn.
In April, after Vajiralongkorn flew to Bangkok and back with a large entourage for a visit of just 19 hours and 48 minutes, at vast expense to Thai taxpayers, the hashtag #กษัตริย์มีไว้ทําไม was retweeted more than a million times.
In May, the Facebook group รอยัลลิสต์มาร์เก็ตเพลส launched by exiled academic Pavin Chachavalpongpun quickly attracted hundreds of thousands of participants openly mocking the monarchy.
Palace sources say Vajiralongkorn was enraged by these developments, and ordered his security chief Jakrapob Bhuridej to organise the murder of a Thai activist living overseas, hoping that this would terrify his critics into silence.
Thai embassies abroad were told to find out the home addresses of exiled dissidents, and Jakrapob's team began hunting for a target.
They decided to murder Wanchalearm Satsaksit, because he was one of the few prominent exiled Thai dissidents still living in Southeast Asia, which made him a much easier target than activists in Europe, the US and Japan.
Wanchalearm was not a vocal critic of the monarchy and had nothing to do with the protests in Germany or the รอยัลลิสต์มาร์เก็ตเพลส page, but he was chosen as the target because he lived in Cambodia and it would be relatively easy to kill him.
Thai Airways flights to Europe were suspended because of the pandemic, but on May 21 a Boeing 777 took off from Suvarnabhumi Airport to fly to Munich.
At 0959 on May 21 it departed from Munich Airport to return to Bangkok, with a security team aboard who were tasked with overseeing the capture and murder of Wanchalearm. It landed at Suvarnabhumi at 0047 on May 22.
Jakrapob Bhuridej was personally in charge of the team, palace sources say. He usually never leaves Vajiralongkorn's side, but he returned to Bangkok to oversee the killing of Wanchalearm, while the king stayed in Europe.
On June 4, Wanchalearm was seized by armed men at a street food near his condominium in Phnom Penh, as he was buying meatballs and chatting to his sister on the phone. He has not been seen since, and palace sources say he would have been murdered within hours of being abducted.
Wanchalearm is the tenth Thai dissident living in exile in Southeast Asia to be targeted by Vajiralongkorn's assassination team.
According to special forces officers with knowledge of previous murders, activists are tortured and killed soon after being kidnapped, and their bodies are then buried in a remote location or dumped in a river.
Because Vajiralongkorn enjoys watching the torture and murder of his enemies, the killings of activists abroad are routinely filmed, and the footage is sent to the king.
The purpose of Wanchalearm's abduction was to strike fear into the king's critics. However, it completely backfired.
#saveวันเฉลิม quickly became the top hashtag on Thai Twitter after the kidnapping, and #ยกเลิก112 is now trending.
Thai celebrities who had tweeted their support for the #BlackLivesMatter movement in the US faced a torrent of online criticism over their hypocrisy for failing to speak out to condemn the abduction of Wanchalearm.
The model Praya Lundberg was widely condemned for refusing to comment on Wanchalearm's kidnapping despite being a UNHCR goodwill ambassador. In remarks on Instagram which she later deleted, she said she was "crying and in pain" but "it's not my fight" because she only promotes "peace and non political agendas".
Meanwhile, the blatant lies of the Thai and Cambodian authorities, who have refused to investigate the incident, further demonstrated their complicity.
Vajiralongkorn's targeting of Wanchalearm was a totally pointless crime which has only damaged his reputation further and fuelled online anger and criticism. The Thai monarch is now more hated than ever.
