Disinformation about the war is spread through game clips
Realistic images and clips from the war game "Arma 3" have been frequently used to spread misinformation about the war in Ukraine, AFP reports.
The news agency has identified several fake clips that have been widely circulated on social media, one of which purports to show Russian tanks being hit by US-made robots.
- It's a reminder of how easy it is to deceive people, Claire Wardle, an expert on disinformation tactics at Brown University, told AFP.
Arma 3 allows players to create different battlefield scenarios with fighter planes, tanks and weapons. According to Czech game developer Bohemia Interactive, images from the game have also been shared by media and government agencies.
"We have tried to counteract this by informing the platform providers, but it is very ineffective," the game developer writes in a statement.

According to the US Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance, Zircon is very difficult to defend against due to its high speed.

Sloppy ammunition storage may be behind high death toll
Like several Russian military blogs, the British Ministry of Defense concludes that unsafe storage of ammunition may have contributed to the death of so many Russian soldiers in the Ukrainian assault on the occupied town of Makiivka.
The fact that the school building where the soldiers were located was completely destroyed indicates that ammunition was stored in connection with the military base and detonated in connection with the attacks, the ministry writes in its analysis.
"This incident shows how unprofessional practices contribute to Russia's high death toll."

Russia raises death toll - blames mobile phones
The Kremlin raises the official death toll from the robot attack on a military base in Makiivka, Donetsk on New Year's Eve, from 63 to 89, Sky News reports.
The figure means that the attack is one of the deadliest carried out by Ukraine - while Kyiv itself claims that as many as 400 Russian soldiers were killed. The Russian Ministry of Defense believes that the attack was made possible by Russian soldiers revealing their positions while using private mobile phones.
