The Israel-Palestine conflict
Palestine apologizes for attack on German tourists
Palestinian authorities are apologizing after a car carrying German tourists was attacked in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus on Saturday, AFP reports.
- A group of young men [...] threw stones at a civilian car with Israeli license plates, says an anonymous authority representative.
Talal Dweikat, spokesman for the Palestinian security forces, says that "of course we harbor no animosity whatsoever towards a country whose inhabitants visit our cities".
According to Dweikat, the tourists were escorted out of the city by Palestinian police after the incident.

Samoa: Save the Pacific Peoples from Extinction
The world must slow climate change to save the populations of the Pacific countries from extinction, says Samoa's Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata'afa, according to The Guardian.
- We are all affected, but how much we are affected is determined by the countries' specific circumstances. For us low-lying atoll countries (the climate crisis) is here, we live with it.
There are already examples of entire people groups in the Pacific who have been forced to move to other countries because of the crisis, she adds.
The alarm comes before a comprehensive climate report from the UN climate panel IPCC, which will be published on Monday.

The criticism against Tiktok
BBC urges its staff to remove Tiktok
The British public service company BBC urges its employees to remove Tiktok from their phones, if the app is not used in the service or for marketing, The Guardian reports. It is a complete turnaround for the BBC, which previously invested heavily in Tiktok and hired social media specialists to its team, writes TT.
The new, somewhat tougher line comes after the British government banned politicians and civil servants from using the app.
