NEW: Pro-Ukrainian group may be behind the sabotage against Nord Stream  

American intelligence claims that a pro-Ukrainian group may have been behind the sabotage of Nord Stream's pipelines in the Baltic Sea, writes the New York Times. According to the information, however, there should be no evidence that President Volodymyr Zelenskyi or his closest collaborators should have known about the action, or that it took place on behalf of the government.  

According to the information, much about the suspected group remains unclear, for example who is included or who would have paid for the operation. According to the New York Times, US officials briefed on the data are divided on how much credence to place in the data.

Germany: Have noted the New York Times information  

The German government has "noted" the New York Times information that American intelligence claims that a pro-Ukrainian group may be behind the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines. This is announced by the chancellor's office, according to Reuters. 

The statement further states that Germany, Sweden and Denmark informed the UN Security Council a few days ago that the countries' various investigations into the sabotage are ongoing and that it is still not possible to draw any conclusions. 

The White House also refers in a statement to the fact that European investigations into the sabotage are still ongoing.  

According to the New York Times, the attack may have been carried out by a group opposed to Vladimir Putin. According to the information, there is no evidence that the President of Ukraine or the Ukrainian government should have known about or given the go-ahead for the sabotage.

Russia: By "invisible hand" China means the USA  

An "invisible hand" is directing the Ukraine war, with the aim of prolonging it and promoting a "particular geopolitical agenda". China's Foreign Minister Qin Gang said so on Tuesday, according to Sky News. 

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov believes he is sure what the Chinese minister really meant. 

- It is of course a joke, you know what it is: it is not an invisible hand, it is the hand of the United States, the hand of Washington. 

From the Chinese side, the Russian interpretation has not been commented on. During the ongoing People's Congress, Chinese government officials have made unusually fierce and direct outbursts against the United States. Among other things, President Xi Jinping said that the West, led by the United States, "encircled" China.

The Israel-Palestine conflict  

Several dead in Israeli military action in the West Bank  

At least six Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli military operation in Jenin in the West Bank, writes AFP. Witnesses state that a major firefight broke out between the military and a militant group that was said to have been the target of the operation. 

In addition to the deaths, about ten people were injured.  

The crackdown comes after a period of increased unrest between Israelis and Palestinians.  The total death toll on both sides in the conflict was during February the highest since 2015, writes TT.
