They are the royal house's freshest prince and princess.  

Despite Harry and Meghan's harsh criticism of the royal family, they have wanted the children to have royal titles.  

Now Archie and Lilibet have got them. 

- Once again, it turns out that Harry and Meghan both want to have their cake and eat it, says court expert Sara Ericsson.  

On Friday, March 3, Harry and Meghan's daughter Lilibeth was christened in a ceremony at the family's home in Montecito, California.  

No royal guests were present, despite both King Charles and Prince William receiving invitations.  

It was instead Meghan's mother Doria who had to represent the family, the rest were friends of Harry and Meghan. Among others, billionaire Tyler Perry, who lent his large house to the couple when they moved to California. He is Lilibet's godfather.  

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan announced: "I can confirm that Princess Lilibet Diana was baptized on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, John Harvey Taylor."

"Many were annoyed with Meghan" 

It was the first time that Lilibet was publicly titled as a princess.  

When Meghan visited Oprah Winfrey, Meghan accused the royal family of refusing to give son Archie a princely title. Implied because of his dark skin color. 

- Many were very annoyed by Meghan's accusation. It didn't fit, says Sara Ericsson.  

Experts quickly declared that Meghan was wrong. According to an old royal rule instituted by Oscar V in 1917, a regent's grandson's children may not hold the titles of prince or princess. The exception is the eldest son of the heir to the throne. In this case, Prince William whose children received prince and princess titles.  

But as soon as Charles became king, all family members jumped up a notch in rank and that meant that Archie and Lilibet qualified for the title of prince and princess.  

Prince Edward has been given the title of Duke of Edinburgh. He was given the simpler title of earl upon his marriage to Sophie in 1999 in return for the promise that he would become Duke of Edinburgh when his father Prince Philip passed away. The king's little brother also received a new title  

- It is surprising that Harry and Meghan accept the titles for the children. They do not want to be part of the royal house and they have also spoken badly about the royal family, says Sara Ericsson and believes that the couple would like to have the royal privileges, but still be outside of official life. 

King Charles has also given his little brother prince Edward a new title. When he married Sophie in 1999, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip made him a promise - the day Philip dies, Edward will take over his title of Duke of Edinburgh. 

Ultimately, it is King Charles who makes all the decisions about titles and now on Edward's 59th birthday, the King decided to live up to his parents' promise.
