The highway patrol arrested Sittichai Chaidej, 33, and Ekasit Sindhu, 38, while they were smuggling 77 migrant workers in a truck tucked away in Hat Yai.
Myanmar migrant workers, with a total of 77 people, 24 women and 53 men, were hiding in a 10-wheel truck on Highway No. 41 in Chumphon province while officials call for an inspection.
The accused confessed that he was hired for 15,000 baht to carry foreigners from Prachuap Khiri Khan Province to the area of Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province.
The officer then filed a charge of "jointly hiding and helping aliens enter the kingdom in violation of the law" against two Thai. The Burmese were charged with "entering and staying in the Kingdom of Thailand without permission" and sent to the Lang Suan Police Station in Chumphon Province for more legal action.

Caretaker PM Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha lost his cool again Friday afternoon after he visited the Defence Ministry and was asked if the armed forces can be counted on being impartial given his relationship with the top brass, Prayut was upset, and said, "Oh, heck!" and walked away.
Before Gen Prayut got inside his limousine, he was asked again by a reporter whether he's maintaining a distance between himself and the top brass in the period leading up to the general election or not. Prayut said he and these generals are grownups and need not be taught or told what to do.
Asked if soldiers would be partial towards him or not, Gen Prayut, who’s still caretaker Defence Minister and a former junta leader replied. "Only you think like that."
