A construction crane has collapsed into a skyscraper in Manhattan, New York.  

 

There is a risk that parts of the structure will fall and the police are urging everyone to avoid the area.  

 

According to the Daily Mail, four people, including a firefighter, were injured during the operation.  

 

The accident occurred at 550 10th Avenue, during Wednesday morning, just before rush hour, local time, writes the Daily mail.

 

Videos on social media show the upper part of the crane falling into a luxury skyscraper across the street, more than 150 meters into the air. According to Fox News, the crane must have caught fire before it fell into the glass facade and shattered windows.  

 

Several firefighters tried to put out the fire, which broke out from a nearby balcony. Sometimes people in nearby hotels had to evacuate quickly, writes the Daily Mail. 

 

The New York police are warning about the accident on Twitter, now X. They are urging residents to avoid the accident area in Manhattan, as parts of the crane structure are at risk of falling down.
