New report: Britain has underestimated Wagner
The
UK government receives strong criticism from the country's foreign
affairs committee for having underestimated the growth of the Russian
Wagner group, writes the BBC.
The
committee, which for the first time has written a report based on open
source reference, believes that the British government has not taken the
Wagner Group's activities seriously enough for ten years. The report also points to an underestimation of the impact the group's actions can have on security in Europe.
"Where the West moves out, Wagner moves in, seeing opportunity in suffering and profiting from chaos," the report says.
