Tesla cars are carried when Xi Jinping visits events
Tesla cars have been banned from parts of several Chinese cities ahead of President Xi Jinping's visit to the World Student Games sporting event, Bloomberg reports.
Among other things, government personnel in Chengdu have given orders to prevent all Tesla cars from entering the event area.
In the past, the American company's vehicles have also been banned from Chinese military areas. The reason is said to be concern that the cars' built-in cameras will collect sensitive information.

The Australian mining company Mineral Resources is to buy technology for 120 self-driving road trains from Hexagon. The collaboration creates the world's first fully autonomous road train solution, writes the Swedish measuring technology company in a press release.
"The collaboration with Minres will ensure safer and more sustainable and productive off-road transport", writes Hexagon.
The solution has been tested in a pilot project in Western Australia since 2021. The test model consists of a tractor and three trailers with the capacity to transport a total of 300 tonnes of iron ore.

CEO of major British bank resigns after BBC scandal
Natwest's CEO Alison Rose is resigning with immediate effect after she provided incorrect information about right-wing populist Nigel Farage's finances at her own bank.
Farage's bank account was closed days earlier because Natwest did not share his political views, writes the Financial Times. Later, however, Rose allegedly provided anonymous information to the BBC that Farage did not meet the bank's "financial requirements".
On Tuesday night, Rose apologized and admitted she was the anonymous source. The decision had only been about "commercial considerations", she says according to the FT.
