Criticism of Plans for Military to Chicago: Abuse of Power
Illinois Democratic Governor JB Pritzker accuses Donald Trump of "abuse of power", reports the BBC. The reason is the president's plans to send the US National Guard to Chicago to fight crime.
"Donald Trump is trying to create a crisis, politicize Americans who serve in uniform and continue to abuse his power to divert attention from the pain he is causing families", writes Pritzker on X.
The move comes after Trump deployed the National Guard to the capital, Washington D.C., something that has been criticized as symbolic politics.

Majority for postal voting - Trump wants to abolish it
More than half of all Americans want postal voting, despite President Donald Trump wanting it to be abolished. This is reported by Axios.
Donald Trump claimed election fraud in connection with postal voting in the 2020 election, which he lost to Joe Biden. Now Trump is expected to sign a presidential order banning mail-in voting ahead of the 2026 election.
However, according to a survey, 58 percent want it to remain, 83 percent among Democrats and 32 percent among Republicans.
